Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes brought its Kenyan round to a successful close on October 2nd during Seedstars Nairobi, which was hosted in iHub.
During the event, Illuminum Greenhouse Kenya won the Kenyan round of Seedstar World out of the 9 invited startups and will represent Kenya at the Seedstars World Final to compete for up to 500,000 US dollars in equity investment.

The company which creates a limitless integrated solar powered farm automation system with sensors controlled via SMS from the farmers mobile phone, was selected the best startup in Kenya and will be going to Switzerland in February 2016 to attend the final pitching round.
Coming second in the competition was Lynk, a company using technology to improve the life of workers and customers while, Totohealth, a startup saving the lives of children using mobile technology, grabbed the last spot in the top 3.
Continuing on its world tour of startup scenes in emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, Seedstars World’s next stop is Addis Ababa, where the event will be held on October 8th to select the best startup in Ethiopia. Seedstars World is looking for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.

ENT-Mobile that converts conversation on social media and mobile platforms to structured, actionable, and quantifiable data, Mobidawa that is building the most reliable and easy to use medication guide and reminder for Africa.
In addition, Tech Republic Africa that creates premier technology education experiences for youth to nurture their STEM University and career interests and Sufuria, A recipe sharing platform with a bias to African dishes, seeking to deliver meals also pitched at the event.
